WearTalk Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 22, 2025
Chen Asraf (“we”, “our”, or “us”) built the WearTalk app as a free instant voice-messaging app. This SERVICE is provided by Chen Asraf at no cost and is intended for use as is.
This Privacy Policy is meant to inform users regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information for anyone choosing to use our Service.
1. Information We Collect
Audio Recordings
WearTalk is a voice-only messaging app. We require access to your device’s microphone to record and send audio messages to your contacts. Audio messages are stored temporarily on secure servers managed via Firebase.
Phone Number
We use your phone number for identification and authentication purposes. It helps uniquely identify users and allows connection between contacts already using the app. We do not store names or address book data beyond what is required for contact matching.
Notifications
The app requests permission to send notifications to alert you when you receive new voice messages.
2. Use of Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services for infrastructure and app functionality:
-
Firebase by Google – for authentication, real-time database, file storage (audio messages), and messaging.
Firebase may collect some information as described in their privacy policy. You can read more here:
Firebase Privacy Policy -
Flutter by Google – the framework used to build the app. Flutter itself does not collect any personal data, but apps built with Flutter may rely on platform-level services like Firebase.
3. Data Sharing and Storage
-
No Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third-party entities for marketing or advertising purposes. -
Secure Transmission & Storage
All data—including recorded voice messages and user identifiers—is securely transmitted and stored using Firebase’s secure infrastructure. -
Temporary Storage of Messages
Audio messages are stored on Firebase servers only for the purpose of delivering them between users. Once delivered, retention may be minimized according to app logic and policies.
4. User Control and Data Management
- You may revoke microphone or notification permissions at any time via your device settings. However, doing so may affect the app’s core functionality.
- You may request to delete your account and any associated data by contacting the developer.
5. Children’s Privacy
WearTalk is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us to have it deleted.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Users are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
